First edition

What a true first shows: The true first of the novel is Harper & Brothers, New York, 1851 (issued in London as 'The Whale', Bentley, 1851). The first Rockwell Kent illustrated edition is the three-volume Lakeside Press (R.R. Donnelley), 1930. This copy is the later Modern Library Giant reprint (G64), not either first.

Photographs show the exact copy you will receive. Every flaw we found is listed above; if we missed one, the return is on us.
